Blackberry Banana Smoothie

I love starting my day with a smoothie whenever I’m not too lazy to get out of bed and get my day going, and for some, Mondays are especially challenging to do that.

We always say “five more minutes” to sleep a little more, when we could be using those five minutes to mix up something that’s going to give us long-lasting energy.              

Lately I’ve been falling into the habit of eating super late, and staying up late, so this isn’t so efficient for my body’s energy.  Then I usually end up waking up later than I want to, and I’m all “creaky” and achy and bloated and stuff.                            

but on a day when I wake up at a reasonable time to drink something that’s loaded with plant magic, I get this really nice energized feeling that carries into the day more and more why I believe in the power of plants and going vegan.                                                                                                     

Blackberry Banana Smoothies

Balanced with the right flavors and nutrients, this smoothie is a great option for a morning energy boost.

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup frozen blackberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1/2 cup baby spinach
  • 1 tbsp hemp seed
  • 1 cup almond milk


  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth, pour into a glass and enjoy.
