Good morning 🙂
A couple days ago I received a Bigger Better Nut Milk Bag by Ellies Best, and I’m super excited to share with you my experience of making homemade almond milk with it (makes me never want to go back to store bought again).
The bag came with a basic almond milk recipe, so I decided to go with something similar to that to keep it simple.
Homemade Almond Milk
Frothy, fresh and delicious; you'll never want to go back to store bought again.
- 1 cup almonds soaked overnight / for 8 hours
- 1/2 tbsp agave syrup
- 1 tsp pink salt
- 4 cups cold water
Soak the almonds over night, drain and rinse.
Combine all ingredients for the milk in a blender, and blend on high speed for about 60 seconds.
Place the nut milk bag into the quart mason jar, and carefully pour the almond milk into the bag.
Squeeze the milk into the jar until all that remains in the bag is the pulp (that you can use later for making treats like muffins, energy bites, etc.).
Enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
So, if making your own nut milk sounds like something you might wanna do, and if you find yourself paroozing on Ellie’s Best page to get a Bigger Better Nut Milk Bag, feel free to use my promo code -> healthindulgencejourney <- for 10% off your first purchase.
One last little tip someone told me about -> you can control the consistency (as far as “skim milk” to “whole milk”) just by how much water you add -> less water will give you thicker, more water will give you thinner.
I was super happy with the end product, and the first thing I was dying to do was drink it alongside a pb&j sandwich.
