Homemade Strawberry Oat Milk

I came across a really simple and easy recipe by Minimalist Baker for making your own oat milk, and I discovered a yummy idea in the notes; adding berries to flavor the milk.

With it being summer time, I love to have strawberries on hand as much as I can, and knowing some of the amazing health benefits and nutrients they provide makes it even easier to want to eat them (or drink them).

Strawberry Oat Milk

I'm sure traditional tastes just as good, but for my first attempt of making my own oat milk, I decided to flavor it with some natural goodness.

Servings 1 quart


  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 4 cup water
  • 1-2 dates (depends how sweet you want it)
  • 3 fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 tsp pink salt


  1. Blend everything together on high for about a minute, and pour through the nut milk bag over a large bowl; squeeze until all that remains is the pulp.

  2. Store in a mason jar in the fridge for up to three days.


I loved the natural strawberry flavor with the oats, and I definitely plant on making more oat milk with other types of berries.

One of the best parts about using the strawberry in this recipe, is that the oat pulp leftover is already flavored; I have some chocolate strawberry oat bites that Iโ€™ll share another time.
